The Raging Elk Hostel and Motel was discovered and created by Joe Howse back in the late 1900's. As an avid powder skier, Joe searched the planet for the deepest stashes of untouched feather light powder. In Fernie, Joe hit the big time! The DEEP CHEAP SLEEP! Joe also met his match with Sadie Howse, an avid powder hound.

Sadie previously taught skiing 12 months of the year to other skiers and now she enjoys sharing her knowledge of the mountain with fellow travellers. Sadie and Joe strive to provide a memorable mountain experience for all mountain riders.

Your other hosts are Nuuk and Whiskey, big furry friendly mountain dogs. They are not allowed inside but if you ever miss your pets from home, make sure to go out to the deck area and you will be met with a big enthusiastic mountain hug from your new found buddies.
